The advanced biofuel portion of the product development plan at Nikua Training Center is moving forward.

We just reached agreement to sponsor PhD level research at the University of the South Pacific Institute of Applied Science, at the Laucala Campus in Suva Fiji. Mr. Taniela Tabuya who is a BS mechanical engineer and MS chemical engineer, and staff engineer with the Fiji Department of Energy will carry out Nikua sponsored research for commercialization of solid state catalyzed microscale reactor technology to produce hydrotreated vegetable oil for use as low-carbon marine diesel. Taniela's research adviser is Dr. Vincent Lal, Director of the Biofuel Analytical Lab at the USP.
